{"id":2682,"date":"2014-06-13T22:42:04","date_gmt":"2014-06-14T05:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.caida.org\/best_available_data\/?p=2682"},"modified":"2016-01-13T12:57:54","modified_gmt":"2016-01-13T19:57:54","slug":"presentation-at-bitag-meeting-on-internet-interdomain-congestion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.caida.org\/best_available_data\/2014\/06\/13\/presentation-at-bitag-meeting-on-internet-interdomain-congestion\/","title":{"rendered":"presentation at BITAG meeting on internet interdomain congestion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had the honor of being invited to the most recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bitag.org\">BITAG<\/a> (Broadband Internet Technical Advisory Group) meeting, to present some recent research (a collaboration with MIT&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/csail.mit.edu\">CSAIL group<\/a>) on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caida.org\/publications\/presentations\/2014\/bitag-congestion\/\">identifying and analyzing instances of Internet interdomain congestion<\/a> (an earlier version of which Matthew presented at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nanog.org\/sites\/default\/files\/tuesday.general-lt.luckie.congestion.pdf\">NANOG lightning talk<\/a> in February).<\/p>\n<p>Per their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bitag.org\">web site<\/a>, BITAG&#8217;s mission is to &#8220;<em>bring together engineers and other similar technical experts to develop consensus on broadband network management practices or other related technical issues that can affect users&#8217; Internet experience<\/em>&#8220;.  (Their web site also hosts <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bitag.org\/bitag_organization.php?action=history\">summaries of Silicon Flatirons workshop discussions<\/a> that inspired the establishment of BITAG.)<\/p>\n<p>It was gratifying to present to such an interested audience, who provided plenty of constructive feedback as well an invitation to join the technical working group (TWG).
